About US

Red Rock Robotics (FRC Team #3006) is a competitive high school robotics team with around 40 active members. Based at West High School in Salt Lake City, we are the oldest FRC team in Northern Utah. Our goal is to foster skills in engineering, leadership, and teamwork in all of our members through the process of creating unique and innovative robots, as well as to prepare our students for future exploration in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields. Each year, we are given a new FIRST Robotics Competition(FRC) challenge, with six weeks to build, program, and test a robot to fit that challenge. This year's competition is called "Deep Space". Red Rock Robotics ! 2016

The 2017 FRC game was called FIRST Steamworks, with a steampunk theme. After winning the Industrial Design Award and being a member of the winning alliance at the Idaho Regional competition, we went to the World Championship in Houston, Texas. This was our second ever time going to Worlds, the first being our rookie year in 2009, when we were in a finalist alliance and won both Highest Rookie Seed and the Rookie Inspiration Award at the Las Vegas regional.

Worlds 2.0!

2017

The 2018 FRC game was called FIRST Powerup, with a videogame theme. That year, although we did not initially qualify for the world competition as we had the year before, we were given a spot thanks to FIRST's waitlisting program. The event was once again held in Houston, Texas, where we were able to compete and work with some of the best teams in the world.
